What we collect

When you place an order: your name, email address, delivery address and, if you give one, a phone number. We need every one of these to get a parcel to you and to tell you it is coming.

When you book a tour: your name, email, party size, the date you chose, and anything you tell us about allergies or access needs so we can plan around them.

When you ask what shipping costs: your email and destination. We keep these because the freight from Aruba is genuinely high, and somebody who decided against it is somebody we can quote by hand.

When you ask Pica, the assistant on the site, a question: the messages you type. They are sent to our AI provider to produce the answer, kept in your browser for the session, and not tied to your name unless you give it so we can follow up.

When you simply visit: the country the connection appears to come from, so the shop can show prices delivered to where you are. That is a country code, not a location, and you can override it with one click.

We do not collect card details. No card is processed on this site.

Who else sees it

Post Aruba or DHL receive the name and address on the parcel, because that is what a shipping label is.

Our email provider sends the confirmation to your inbox.

Our database and hosting providers store it on our behalf.

If you said yes to all cookies, Meta and Google receive the pages you viewed and the steps you took towards an order, so we can tell which of our ads work. They receive nothing if you chose essential cookies only. The cookie policy lists exactly what each one sets.

Nobody buys this list. We do not sell or rent customer data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

How long we keep it

Orders and tour bookings are kept as business records, because we have to be able to answer a question about an order months later.

Shipping enquiries that never became an order are kept for two years and then deleted.

Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe, which is a link in every email we send.

Your choices

Email info@aruba-heat.com and ask for a copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. We will do it.

Deleting an order record we are legally required to keep is the one thing we may have to refuse, and we will say so plainly rather than ignoring the request.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with a data protection authority, you also have the right to complain to it. We would rather hear from you first.
