Since 2007

It All Started with a Pepper and a Dream

Every great sauce has a story. Ours begins in 2007, somewhere between a kitchen full of fresh local peppers, a notebook of recipes, and the stubborn belief that Aruba deserved its own fire.

Chef Michel Frank, a man with a deep love for heat, flavor, and the culinary soul of the Caribbean, started with a simple question: Why isn’t there a truly authentic Aruban hot sauce?

“Three new hot sauces were born: Red Heat, Tropical Heat, and BBQ Heat. Each one an island flavor: from mild to wild.”

On March 7, 2008, Aruba Heat made its first official sale to a major local supermarket. A dream had become a bottle. A bottle had become a business. And that business would grow into something the whole island could call its own.

The Founder

Meet Chef Michel Franken

Michel isn’t just a hot sauce producer. He’s a culinary craftsman with a sense of humor and a relentless passion for quality.

After launching Aruba Heat, he traveled to Atlanta to complete the Acidified Canning course, becoming FDA qualified for food canning. Every bottle you open is backed by both island tradition and international safety standards.

When COVID-19 brought the world to a standstill and Aruba’s borders closed, Michel didn’t stop. He created. Out of that difficult season came Rucu Tradishonal, a deep-rooted island recipe finally bottled for the world.

“Known for his creativity and sense of humor, Chef Michel gave life to Assplosive, and he has no plans to stop.”
