Why We Moved the Webshop to the Big Bottle

Our 5 oz bottle is glass and carries roughly 200 g of packaging around 150 ml of sauce. The 16.5 oz is plastic: about 150 g around 500 ml.

Per milliliter of sauce that actually reaches you, the small bottle costs nearly 80% more to fly. For years we were charging people airfreight on glass.

There is a second problem. A 150 ml bottle sent to Ohio is finished long before anyone thinks about ordering again, and then the freight is paid a second time.

So the webshop now ships the 16.5 oz only, in packs. The small bottle has not gone anywhere: it is on the shelf in souvenir shops across the island and sold by the case to trade, which is where it makes sense.
